At Athey Creek, we desire to develop a Christ-centered worldview in our High School students.
Whether it's at our large gatherings or small discipleship groups, at events, or in service, we want every high schooler to have a lasting love for Jesus.
The vision of Athey Youth is to provide safe and engaging environments and opportunities for students to:
- Hear and learn about Jesus (passively understand the Bible).
- Make their faith their own (personally handle the truth).
- Become a disciple-maker (publicly proclaim their faith).
Environments
We strive to create an environment that is safe, high-quality, fun, and intentionally focused on the needs of our youth so that they become rooted in Christ through active participation in their personal Christian walks.
Opportunities
We feel it is a privilege to challenge and enable the students we encounter (both online and in-person) to follow and glorify Jesus.

Get Plugged In
Come to Church
Wednesday night and weekend through-the-Bible teaching is central to the Youth Ministry. From Jr. High and onward, all students are encouraged to attend the primary services in the sanctuary with the adults.
Attend Youth Night
The church is open Thursday night for both Jr. High and High School. The Jr. High meets downstairs in the Multipurpose Room and lower foyer - the High School meets upstairs in the sanctuary and upper foyer. There are fun games and activities, snacks, and time spent in worship and God's Word. If it's your first time, make sure to meet one of the youth leaders to get acquainted!
Find an Outpost
Outposts are small groups that meet all over the Portland Metro Area. There can be a lot of people at Youth Night, so this is a great opportunity to meet others in a quieter environment while studying through the Scriptures and sharing a meal together. These are hosted and led by our Youth Night volunteers. Schedules for Outpost can vary, so sign up for the Outpost nearest to you to get an email with the details. Outposts will be on pause during the summer, then generally be on the 1st Thursdays or 3rd Sundays of the month.
Volunteer for a Service
High School youth are encouraged to volunteer in the High School group, with younger kids, or in other areas at the church. Please visit our Volunteer Page for more information on how to get involved.
Events
If you're new or have been attending for a while, events can be a great way to get plugged in with smaller groups. Events are action-packed, so be ready for adventure! Plan to always bring a Bible and meet someone new. Visit our Events Page to learn more about what's going on at Athey Creek.
Want to volunteer with Athey Youth?
All of our events are staffed with volunteers from Youth Night. If you would like to volunteer at High School Youth Night, we ask that you have attended Athey Creek services for 6 months or more, you are minimum age 19, and you have the availability to serve at least once a month on Thursdays. The volunteer form below will initiate a background check, then a meeting with the Jr. High or High School pastor.
