One of the names – or descriptive characteristics – of Jesus we learn in Jeremiah 23:5-6 is the “branch of righteousness.” While it may seem weird on first thought to describe someone as a “branch,” as we dig deeper into Scripture, we see how it perfectly illustrates who Jesus is, what He came to earth to accomplish, and what it means for us as we put our faith in Him.
