In the midst of his agony in Job 9, Job has an inherent understanding that he needs an intermediary to bridge the gap between God and himself. With the advantage of hindsight and the full benefit of Scripture we know that this mediator is Jesus Christ, who became a man, understands our plight and has taken our punishment to make us righteous before God.
