The Lord commands the Israelites in Deuteronomy 25:17-19 to remember what the Amalekites did when they left Egypt and therefore destroy them when they enter the land. Seeing this battle against the Amalekites helps us to remember the enemy we are fighting and how we can gain the ultimate victory.
