Isaiah 7:1-14

With his enemies closing in and fear gripping his heart, King Ahaz hatches a plan of his own devices to try to save himself. When Isaiah arrives on the scene with reassurance of God’s help and an incredible, monumental prophetic sign, Ahaz remains indifferent and continues counting upon his own self-sufficiency. Yet Isaiah’s prophecy still came to pass in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ and we learn why this is essential to our faith.
