After Ezra learns about the horrible sin the Jews have committed by intermarrying the pagans he falls to his knees before the Lord and acknowledges what they have done in Ezra 9-10. Yet even as God’s gracious mercy is extended to the people, they still must deal with the consequences in a very brutal manner.
