1 Kings 19:19-21; 20:1-34

As Elijah appoints Elisha as his successor, King Ahab is engaging in an intense battle with the Syrians in 1 Kings 19:18 - 1 Kings 20:34. Ahab’s actions during the war become an illustration of what not to do, but we also see how God is gracious even when we mess up.
