Accounting Assistant for Payroll & Benefits
The Accounting Assistant for Payroll and Benefits will assist the Controller in the design of benefit plans and process all benefit details for the ACCF staff. Additionally, this person is responsible for all aspects of ACCF’s time and attendance and payroll systems.
Qualifications:
- Agree to ACCF doctrinal distinctive and vision as found in our What We Believe/Vision Statement
- Fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon as taught in scripture
- Minimum three years of payroll experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and productively with others
- Proficient in Quickbooks, Microsoft Suite, Outlook, and Teams
- Maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information
- Strong ability to exercise good independent judgment, pay attention to details, and prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees for time and attendance and payroll inquiries
- Develop and maintain a culture of excellent service, accuracy, reliability and trust
- Process payroll and maintain payroll information as required
- Prepare and maintain related payroll records and reports
- Perform gross to net calculation, audit and balancing
- Receive, input, compute and balance payroll, in accordance with the established payroll schedule and make appropriate deductions for taxes, retirement, insurance, 403b and other authorized deductions
- Issue paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts, as applicable
- Maintain accurate electronic and hard copy records, as applicable
- Compile and submit State and Federal taxes, including quarter and year-end reconciliations, as needed
- Work with insurance agency to ensure ACCF offers a competitive benefit plan
- Administrate the renewal process
- Process all enrollments and terminations, including any changes such as beneficiaries, disability and employee status change
- Serve as point of contact for benefit details, including meeting with new hires to review coverage and answering questions from staff
