Accounting Assistant for Payroll & Benefits

The Accounting Assistant for Payroll and Benefits will assist the Controller in the design of benefit plans and process all benefit details for the ACCF staff. Additionally, this person is responsible for all aspects of ACCF’s time and attendance and payroll systems.

Qual­i­fi­ca­tions:

  • Agree to ACCF doc­tri­nal dis­tinc­tive and vision as found in our What We Believe/​Vision Statement
  • Ful­fill the char­ac­ter qual­i­fi­ca­tions of a dea­con as taught in scripture
  • Min­i­mum three years of pay­roll experience
  • Excel­lent writ­ten and ver­bal com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills
  • Abil­i­ty to work col­lab­o­ra­tive­ly and pro­duc­tive­ly with others
  • Pro­fi­cient in Quick­books, Microsoft Suite, Out­look, and Teams
  • Main­tain strict con­fi­den­tial­i­ty with sen­si­tive information
  • Strong abil­i­ty to exer­cise good inde­pen­dent judg­ment, pay atten­tion to details, and pri­or­i­tize and han­dle mul­ti­ple tasks and projects concurrently

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of con­tact for employ­ees for time and atten­dance and pay­roll inquiries
  • Devel­op and main­tain a cul­ture of excel­lent ser­vice, accu­ra­cy, reli­a­bil­i­ty and trust
  • Process pay­roll and main­tain pay­roll infor­ma­tion as required
  • Pre­pare and main­tain relat­ed pay­roll records and reports
  • Per­form gross to net cal­cu­la­tion, audit and balancing
  • Receive, input, com­pute and bal­ance pay­roll, in accor­dance with the estab­lished pay­roll sched­ule and make appro­pri­ate deduc­tions for tax­es, retire­ment, insur­ance, 403b and oth­er autho­rized deductions
  • Issue pay­checks or elec­tron­ic trans­fers to bank accounts, as applicable
  • Main­tain accu­rate elec­tron­ic and hard copy records, as applicable
  • Com­pile and sub­mit State and Fed­er­al tax­es, includ­ing quar­ter and year-end rec­on­cil­i­a­tions, as needed
  • Work with insur­ance agency to ensure ACCF offers a com­pet­i­tive ben­e­fit plan 
  • Admin­is­trate the renew­al process
  • Process all enroll­ments and ter­mi­na­tions, includ­ing any changes such as ben­e­fi­cia­ries, dis­abil­i­ty and employ­ee sta­tus change
  • Serve as point of con­tact for ben­e­fit details, includ­ing meet­ing with new hires to review cov­er­age and answer­ing ques­tions from staff
