Accounting Assistant
The Accounting Assistant supports multiple functions of the financial accounting office.
Qualifications:
- Agree to ACCF doctrinal distinctive and vision as found in our What We Believe/Vision Statement
- Fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon as taught in scripture
- Two years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping functions
- Associate’s degree or relevant certification preferred
- Ability to perform filing and record-keeping tasks
- Data entry and word processing skills
- Quick learner, hardworking, well-organized, adaptable, and a problem solver
- Ability to handle multiple projects effectively
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Word and Excel
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the Director of Finance
- Perform filing, mailing, and other clerical duties
- Reconcile bank account statements
- Fast-check invoices for payment and processing
- Review invoices, check requests, purchase requests, and other accounting paperwork for accuracy
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Manage the collection of tithes and offerings
- Process and record contributions of various types
- Assist fellow employees in the implementation of financial accounting procedures
- Assist in the facilitation of event registrations for other departments
- Assist in the management of credit cards
- Assist with obtaining and maintaining accurate vendor and contractor records
- Maintain department email inbox and phone lines, responding to questions and other inquiries
- Research, track, and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
- Assist with income reports for supervisor
- Compose and distribute annual giving statements
- Assist with the annual year-end closeout of financial records
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial data
- All other duties as assigned
