Required Expe­ri­ence & Knowledge

  • Agree to ACC’s doc­tri­nal dis­tinc­tive and vision as found in our What We Believe/​Vision Statement
  • Ful­fill the char­ac­ter qual­i­fi­ca­tions of a dea­con as taught in the scriptures
  • Main­tain DPSST Unarmed and Armed Secu­ri­ty Pro­fes­sion­al Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion for the dura­tion of employ­ment for this position
  • Achieve and main­tain ACC Armed status
  • Pass and main­tain an ACC Secu­ri­ty Fit­ness Test
  • Excel­lent obser­va­tion­al skills and atten­tion to detail
  • Author­i­ta­tive ver­bal com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills
  • Abil­i­ty to remain calm in high-pres­sure situations
  • Abil­i­ty to patrol the prop­er­ty and access areas quickly
  • Phys­i­cal­ly able to cap­ture and detain indi­vid­u­als if necessary

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Par­tic­i­pate in week­ly staff meet­ings and spe­cial events as needed
  • Pro­tect employer’s prop­er­ty and enforce laws
  • Mon­i­tor closed-cir­cuit TV cameras
  • Con­trol vis­i­tor and employ­ee build­ing access
  • Pro­vide sup­port to areas of oper­a­tions by con­duct­ing patrols, con­trolled vis­its, safe­ty checks, etc.
  • Main­tain accu­rate records of secu­ri­ty incidents
  • Detain any violators
  • Con­duct reg­u­lar patrols to ensure doors are secure and mon­i­tor for sus­pi­cious behavior
  • Respond prompt­ly to inci­dents and emer­gen­cies, quick­ly assess the sit­u­a­tion, and take appro­pri­ate action to main­tain the safe­ty of staff and congregation
  • Deter, de-esca­late, and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Main­tain phys­i­cal fit­ness standards
  • Engage in reg­u­lar train­ing and main­tain stan­dards as set by Athey Creek
  • Fol­low all secu­ri­ty poli­cies, includ­ing stan­dards for use of force, de-esca­la­tion, and report­ing inci­dents promptly
  • Admin­is­tra­tion duties to include inven­to­ry, sched­ul­ing, record keep­ing, and documentation
  • Engage as part of a team with Athey Creek staff, always being edi­fy­ing to one another
  • All oth­er duties as assigned
