Digital Media Specialist

Required Expe­ri­ence & Knowledge

  • Ful­fill the char­ac­ter qual­i­fi­ca­tions of a dea­con as taught in scripture
  • Expe­ri­ence in writ­ing and over­see­ing con­tent creation
  • Expe­ri­ence with con­tent strategies
  • High-lev­el time man­age­ment skills, abil­i­ty to work under pres­sure, and strong atten­tion to detail
  • Writ­ing, edit­ing, and proof­read­ing con­tent for web and social media channels
  • Expe­ri­ence pro­mot­ing a brand or orga­ni­za­tion with social media (includ­ing Insta­gram, Face­book, and X)
  • 5+ years of expe­ri­ence as a Social Media Man­ag­er or web con­tent man­age­ment through var­i­ous con­tent systems
  • Exper­tise in mul­ti­ple social media platforms
  • Strong under­stand­ing of design con­cepts and visu­al prin­ci­ples with a pulse for cur­rent trends and techniques
  • Work­ing knowl­edge of Adobe Cre­ative Cloud Suite and project man­age­ment soft­ware (Click­Up pre­ferred) is a plus

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Par­tic­i­pate in week­ly staff meet­ings and spe­cial events as needed
  • Over­see com­mu­ni­ty man­age­ment on all chan­nels, includ­ing respond­ing to com­ments and direct mes­sages in a time­ly manner
  • Man­age inter­de­part­men­tal projects to cre­ate con­tent for social media platforms
  • Imple­ment and curate con­tent on all Athey Creek Church social media plat­forms, includ­ing Face­book, YouTube, and Instagram
  • Cre­ate engag­ing text, images, and video content
  • Stay up to date with changes in all social plat­forms to ensure max­i­mum effectiveness
  • Recruit, devel­op, and train a dig­i­tal vol­un­teer team to help with social post­ings, respons­es, and engagement
  • Mon­i­tor trends in social media appli­ca­tions, chan­nels, plat­forms, design, and strategy
  • Ana­lyze key met­rics, track and report bi-month­ly, and mod­i­fy strat­e­gy as needed
  • Mon­i­tor and inter­act on all chan­nels and inter­pret social analytics
  • Man­age con­tent on the Athey Creek web­site, app, and YouTube channel
  • Cre­ate and dri­ve social media plans and con­tent cal­en­dars, includ­ing devel­op­ing cam­paigns and man­ag­ing influ­encers and social part­ner­ships for the tar­get audience
  • Work with sub­con­trac­tors for video and pho­tog­ra­phy for spe­cial events and con­tent cre­ation, and over­see the exe­cu­tion of those projects
  • Over­see the sta­tis­ti­cal analy­sis and growth strate­gies for the church’s online reach and engage­ment for church online, YouTube, Face­book, Insta­gram and email marketing
  • Con­tin­u­ous­ly improve by cap­tur­ing and ana­lyz­ing the appro­pri­ate social data/​metrics, insights, and best prac­tices, and then act­ing on the information
  • Cre­ate and gen­er­ate both recur­ring and ad hoc reports or data analy­sis out­put in response to lead­er­ship and user requests
  • Engage as part of a team with Athey Creek staff, always being edi­fy­ing to one another
  • All oth­er duties as assigned
