This evening we begin the Book of Hebrews. We begin to see some of the themes of the book, including that Jesus is the complete answer to the Old Testament law, and the final word of God to mankind. Brett also taught about Jesus’ power in creating the world and upholding everything in it by His power.
As we begin a new book tonight, we spend some time learning about the historical city of Corinth. Often called Carnal Corinth, the church in this city faced some serious challenges. Paul begins his letter with greetings to the church, commendations for the things they were doing well, a challenge to unity and encouragement regarding their position as believers.

As we study Luke 15 this Father’s Day, we learn how the story of the prodigal son is a perfect example of how God loves us.
God detests pride. In our continued study through Daniel, we learn the problem and peril of pride, and the perfect answer to pride. We need to examine our hearts and humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord. If we do not, we will be sure to fall.
