We learned from 1 Peter 2:3-15 that we have a Biblical calling to submit ourselves to the authority and rulers that God sovereignly places in our lives. In doing so we show honor to the Lord and to the people that He has placed in our lives. Ultimately we ended seeing Jesus’ perfect example of submission which gives us the model and example to follow.

This evening we begin the Book of Hebrews. We begin to see some of the themes of the book, including that Jesus is the complete answer to the Old Testament law, and the final word of God to mankind. Brett also taught about Jesus’ power in creating the world and upholding everything in it by His power.

This evening, we finish our study of Paul’s letter to Titus. Paul ends his letter by discussing how a Christian should behave with respect to authority and government, as long as the authority isn’t going against the Word of God. We are also reminded to continue to look for Christ’s return.

Oftentimes, the Lord uses the weak and foolish to preach His Word. Paul writes of this to the Corinthians. This morning, Pastor Brett discusses the preacher’s approach, the preacher’s attitude, the preacher’s aim and how these relate to our lives today.

In today’s introduction to the book of Acts, we learn the progress, practice, people and power of christianity.

We continue to study the attributes of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus does many things in Luke 9 as he sets his face toward Jerusalem.

Today we read that Jesus marvels at the faith of the centurion.

Today, we learn in Luke 6 that Jesus often withdrew from the crowds to pray. We should do the same.

Our accomplishments are not by our might, nor by our power, but by the Spirit of the Lord.
