As we continue studying through the Hall of Faith in Hebrews 11, Pastor Brett gave us an in-depth look at Moses as a model of faith. We looked at six ways that Moses rejected the the world and its offer of sinful desires and compromise and saw how he chose to trust God and His plan instead of the world. Even Moses’ example of stepping out in faith at the Red Sea was an encouragement for us to look to the Lord and trust Him, even in the face of affliction and danger.
This morning we take a closer look at 1 Corinthians 11 as Pastor Brett teaches on communion. In this chapter, we see Paul share with the Corinthians the importance of communion. Also, we learn of key meals throughout the Bible that ultimately, create pictures of Jesus and what He has done for us.
Tonight is another sideline chapter that breaks away from the chronological order of the seal judgments to describe a specific event. John sees a powerful angel descend from heaven who announces the impending seventh trumpet judgment and a great mystery that will be revealed. We also take a look at their interaction regarding a scroll and the applications that apply to us.
Tonight’s teaching explores the hand of the Lord in the history of the Jews. His faithfulness can be seen in so many ways as we take a look at the Lord’s chosen people.
What part does faith play in our lives as believers? In today’s teaching, we spend some time looking at the life of Moses. He provided a great example of what it really means to live by faith. May the Lord reveal to us all some areas of life where our faith can really spring into action in our daily walks.
