Brett is our senior pastor. He and his family moved to Portland in 1996 to start Athey Creek Christian Fellowship. As our church has grown, Brett’s main focus has remained the same: pointing people to Jesus by teaching through God’s Word, verse-by-verse, book-by-book and chapter-by-chapter. Brett and his wife, Debbie, have three children: Brooke, Joe and Casey.
Kaipo spends much of his time taking care of the maintenance and cleaning needs of the church building. He also heads up many of the improvement projects around the church. He and his wife, Jen, are some of our newest newlyweds!
Bobby serves as an assisting pastor here at the fellowship. He primarily functions in the role of pastoral ministry, being available to the congregation of our church for prayer, counseling and hospital visitations. Bobby and his wife, Meghan, have Emily, Caleb, Molly and Ashli.
Nate is our Junior High youth pastor. He has a great heart to teach God’s Word to our Junior High kids and to have a ton of fun in the process. Nate and Heidi have two daughters named Collette (Coco) and Colbie!
In addition to being one of our worship leaders, Micah is a huge help to the staff in meeting the needs of the various ministries at our church. Micah and his wife, Jacey, help out with our high school youth group.
Amy helps with event planning and the organization of church trips and outings. She also works with various members of the pastoral staff to undertake special projects as they arise. The rest of her time is spent meeting with ladies in the fellowship for prayer and Bible study.
David is our college pastor. He also serves as one of our worship leaders at church. Throughout the rest of the week, he helps take care of our IT and media ministry needs. David and Becca have a daughter named Christy.
Mike is an assisting pastor who works with Tad to coordinate the day-to-day operations of the church office. In addition, Mike heads up our Home Group ministry, which is a huge blessing to our fellowship! Mike and Cassie have Anthony and Aaliyah.
Bryan and Jen work together with James in our Children’s Ministry. In addition to teaching the grade school class, Bryan helps ensure that our teachers and helpers have the support they need to make classes fun and fruitful. He and Jen were recently married and make a great ministry duo!
Jen has been a vital part of our Children’s Ministry for several years now. She helps James keep things up and running as she works on the schedule, facilitates events and makes sure the Children’s Ministry teachers have all they need in order to work with our kiddos. She and Bryan were just married this winter.
Amy is our Lead Wedding Coordinator. She works with a team of wonderful coordinators who help couples as they prepare for marriage. This includes pre-marital counseling with our pastors, along with assistance in the planning of their wedding ceremonies. Amy and her husband, Chris, have three boys: Evan, Caden and Brennan.
Brooke is one of the administrative assistants at the office. This team of girls looks after routine projects, as well as the unexpected needs that arise each week. They also provide tremendous organizational support for the various ministries of the church.
Joey serves in a variety of ministries here at Athey. He is quick to jump in to help whenever and wherever help is needed. Joey is also one of our worship leaders and helps with the production of our Day-by-Day radio program.
Abe is our high school youth pastor. He divides his time between the youth group, two Dutch Brothers stands and his lovely family: his wife, Melissa, and their four kids, Jonah, Emery, Charlotte and Judah.
Tim is our audio, visual and lighting specialist. He looks after the technical details during our times of worship and teaching, as well as providing support for worship team musicians. Tim and his wife, Jamie, have two sons: Elijah and Kian.
Bryn is an assisting pastor who helps to oversee the operations of our fellowship. He also coordinates a variety of pastoral ministries which includes motocross, missions trips, special events and men’s ministry. He and Jessica have three kids: Liam, Madison and Elijah.
Kate is an administrative assistant who works with the staff in various areas of operations such as communications coordination, maintaining schedules and the day-to-day workings of the office. She is married to Travis.
Travis keeps himself busy tending our property in West Linn. The grounds look amazing because of all of his hard work. Once in a while, he can also be found cooking up breakfast goodies for the early risers at Sunrise Worship. Travis is married to Kate.
James is our children’s pastor. His time is divided between the administrative aspects of our Children’s Ministry and keeping up with the Grade Schoolers – both in the classroom and on the many trips they take throughout the year. James and his wife, Angela, have three boys: Silas, J.T. and Isaiah.
Ryan is Tim’s right-hand man. They work together to assist the worship teams, and to make sure the sound, lighting and technical details run smoothly during the services.
Judy leads our women’s ministry. She oversees the ladies’ Bible studies and meets with the women of Athey for prayer, counsel and fellowship. Judy has four children and is ‘Grammy’ to eight grandkids.
Tad and Mike work together to oversee the office staff and to make sure things are running smoothly. Tad also serves as a point of contact for our missionaries, which is a great fit, given his years of experience on the mission-field. He and his wife, Marna, have three kids: Joel, Amy and John.
Abner is a great asset to our staff. He has years of ministry experience under his belt and spends the bulk of his time meeting with the people of our fellowship for prayer, counsel and discipleship. He and his wife, Sarah, have three kids and four grandchildren.
Rachel is an administrative assistant. If you visit the office, chances are it will be Rachel’s smiling face that greets you. When she isn’t helping the staff or chasing grade school kids, you can find her working with the high schoolers on Thursday nights.
Stacey is our bookkeeper. She assists Jeff Young by carrying out administrative duties related to business and finance, as well as providing general office support throughout the week. Stacey is a tremendous help to the staff with regard to the accounting end of ministries and events.
Jeff is an assisting pastor at our church. He handles the business and finance-related issues, and provides support to the pastors and staff for our fellowship. His present focus is working with the various agencies, contractors and lenders to coordinate the pace and flow of the building project. Jeff and his wife, Sherry, have a daughter named Caedy.
